Top 20 highest paid football managers in the World in 2014

on March 18 | in All, Rankings | by | with 1 Comment

For the 10th time since France Football has been on the active, a ranking list containing the top 20 best paid football managers in 2013-2014 has come out. These values are reportedly accounting not only for the coaches’ salaries, but also for any other advertising and sponsorship deals they may have, as well as any financial compensations for having been fired in the past.

Unsurprisingly, it’s José Mourinho (Chelsea FC) and Pep Guardiola (Bayern Munich) who came out on the top of this list, even though the French sports magazine also ended up revealing us a few curiosities. Barcelona‘s head coach, Gerardo Martino, gets featured on this ranking, but only shows up in 16th as he apparently earns almost 3 times less (€5.4M) than Mourinho (€17M) and Guardiola (€15M).

Manchester United‘s David Moyes is ranked on 13th (€6.4M), while the Merengues Italian experienced coach, Carlo Ancelotti, sits comfortably in 4th with his income valued around €13.5M. This the 10th time (out of 10 France Football‘s previous publications) that José Mourinho leads the World’s ranking for the highest paid football coaches.

Another interesting stat is that from the 20 managers listed in this ranking, 9 of them are Italian. It seems like the Italian coaching tradition is still being taken into high regard and being paid accordingly… Let’s take a look at the full list below:
