The five most valuable European leagues – England, Germany, Spain, France and Italy – account for almost half of the 19.400 million Euros of revenue.
The English Premier League reached 2.9 billion euros, leaving the second most valuable league, the Bundesliga, more than one billion away. Total revenues for European football rose 11% compared to the previous season reaching 19 400 million.
England, Germany, Spain, France and Italy are leagues that can’t be matched. Truth applied also to the pitch, where their teams dominate international competitions – won 45 of the 58 editions of the Champions League and 29 of the 42 editions of the Europe League – and at the time to do the math the difference is smaller: in 2011/12 generated 9.4 billion revenue. According to Deloitte, the Premier League has generated 2.9 billion euros, leaving Bundesliga with 1.8, La Liga 1.7, 1.5 to Serie A and Ligue 1 only with 1.1 billion euros. Out of the “big five”, is Russian league who leads and generated 636 million.
