Without much surprise, Chris Viehbacher from Sanofi has been acknowledged as the best Chief Executive Officer in Europe, in a ranking list published by the Thomson Reuters Extel Survey, for 2013. Curiously, Vittorio Colao from the Vodafone Group, dropped from last year’s #1 spot on the list, to fall into 4th place on this season’s table. Numbers don’t seem to lie and his company poor performance in the stock markets last year (Vodafone shares fell -10.83%), probably may have had something to do with it.
Every year, the Thomson Reuters Extel Survey publishes a ranking list containing the best CEOs working in Europe. As expected, the list comprises names of administrators running the destiny of some of the major groups operating in the “Old Continent”. Vodafone, Ericsson, Deutsche Telekom AG or Novartis are just a few examples of companies included on this list, thanks to their CEOs remarkable efforts and accomplishments over the past months.
This ranking list comes out as the result of a survey conducted between March 26 and May 3 of 2013, on which more than 2.220 assets managers and 2.500 analysts from 250 investment banks casted their vote. Below we present you the full list with the rankings for the 25 best CEOs in 2013:
